Quality Measures

Based on HEDIS® 2016, Senior Preferred's WI/IA HMO performs above the 90th percentile for many measures, such as:

  • Controlling high blood pressure. The percentage of members 18-85 years of age who had a diagnosis of high blood pressure and whose blood pressure was controlled (less than 140/90).
  • Breast Cancer Screening. The percentage of women between 50-74 years of age who had a mammogram to screen for breast cancer.
  • Diabetic eye exams. The percentage of individuals with diabetes who had a retinal or dilated eye examination.

In addition, we are working to improve measures, including:

  • Antidepressant medication management. The percentage of members who are diagnosed with and prescribed a medication for depression who stay on the antidepressant medication for at least 12 weeks and at least 6 months.
  • Colorectal cancer screening. The percentage of members 50-75 years of age who had appropriate screening for colorectal cancer.
  • Osteoporosis Management. The percentage of females who suffered a fracture and received either a bone mineral density (BMD) test or prescription for a drug to treat osteoporosis in the six months after date of the fracture.
